SIMPLE TERM ON RANSOMWARE

Ransomware is a malware which prevents or limits users from accessing their system, either by locking their system's screen or by gaining access to the users' files and threatens them until ransom is paid.

INTRODUCTION ON RANSOMWARE

Ransomware is a type of malware where hackers steal the victim's data or information.

Hackers will send a suspicious link to the victim and if the link is clicked, hackers get control of their data.

Hackers will then lock their computer or data.

Hackers will ask for ransom saying that when paid they can get their computer or data back.

However there are some instances where hackers do not unlock their computer or data.

These type of hackers are anonymous and it is really hard to track them down

PURPOSE OF RANSOMWARE

Hackers have one aim which is to extort money from the victims

They use it for personal gain as money cannot be tracked in this manner
